Still it's a decent product but could have gone so many places that they didn't feel like taking it I guess.īut what is done is done, so you either like it or you don't at this point. It FEELS RUSHED, I got same feel about the 1st DLC even though I liked it it seemed obvious to me that this was the case. It just seems like they didn't have time or staff or desire to make it as lengthy as they might have wanted to.ĭoom 2016 and the lore it started up had so many opportunities, Doom eternal base game did a great job at expanding on that, and then it felt like the DLC's were very rushed and they started to not care too much about the lore and just cleaned up loose ends quick and dirty in the storyline and lore to conclude it. With Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 recently released to huge success, many players are wondering if this marks the end of new content for the game.

But that's my main reservation with the DLC's, not the gameplay, the gameplay and fighting is great. That's what I hoped for, it was clear they didn't want to do that with the first DLC, 3 levels, long levels but 3 levels nevertheless, but I accepted that. What I had hoped for is that the DLC's each of them would have been at least as long as doom eternal base game in terms of levels, with gradual unravelling of the mysteries of what is all this about with the father and with the dark lord and the doom slayer and all this. This has been my reservation with the 1st DLC and also with the 2nd DLC. Taking advantage of the many DOOM offerings on Xbox Game Pass likely serves as yet another great way of celebrating id Software's latest shooter. There are many missed opportunities that could have been taken, but weren't. The second DLC release and the advent of a brand-new weapon seems the perfect way to celebrate DOOM Eternal's one-year anniversary, which falls on March 20.

I have found the DLC's decent but too short and with rushed lore that could have gone lots of profound places with more mystery unravelling and things like this. It has great combat involving a few new units and everything else thrown at you as well, and the levels it has are interesting and fun. It's same length as the first DLC in terms of amount of combat and such in it, I think I can say that without spoiling anything.
