This is Ninja Gaiden 2 off-screen projectile tier of bullshit. This game is a fine example of one where difficulty wasn't built around its mechanics, I played this on Hard (mainly because that's what I do with most games, and to also get the Gold trophy on a single playthrough) and it's one of the most infuriating experiences I've ever had in Gaming. And this is constant throughout the whole game, which leads me to my next point. And the latest is what buggers me the most It's all very predictable and safe, aside from a few Boss encounters, where the magnitude on display is astounding, the regular combat encounter are all very samey - You're welcomed with a wave of grunts, then you're presented with a tougher enemy, as soon as that one enemy is done for, you are again presented with a few more waves of grunts with 1 maybe 2 bigger baddies. There's way too much downtime between combat encounters and puzzles, until of course, you reach a large room displayed like an arena in all its glory, very much like a knee high wall in an Uncharted game. There are way too many platforming sections, filled with context sensitive inputs (QTEs), and some way out of context, where failure leads to your death. What defines Character-Action games? Flashy combos, exploration, some platforming, puzzles, etc.Īscension doesn't mix all of this stuff very well, like, at all. The constant time skips are very jarring, it's odd how 3 weeks before his escape Kratos has all of his "powers" available and then, at the beginning of the game, when he was able to escape his imprisonment - which is actually the final quarter of the adventure - he has nothing at his disposal, but then after all the time skips and whatnot: he actually has his powers. I can't help but see this as a retread of GoW2 without the Underworld sections and instead of having Gaia aiding Kratos you have Orkos, the son of Ares. Oddly enough I had a decent grasp of what progress I had already made so I decided to continue my previous save file which, in hindsight, wasn't a very good idea for I seemingly dropped the game in the middle of a rather frustrating boss fight.

God of war ascension save file ps3#
So, the past few days I've been scrabbling through my PS3 backlog and decided to play GoW Ascension, a game which I started a couple of years ago but dropped a few hours in. Disclaimer: I'm able to gather some enjoyment from kusoge-tier game and have completed all DMC games (yes even DMC2) on DMD difficulty as well as Ninja Gaiden Sigma on Master Ninja mode, so please abstain from posting vapid "git gud" or baseless ad hominems.
